Taking Forms Further

Forms can be both made more accessible and dressed up visually with some of the newer features discussed in this section. Most of what is presented here will require some hand coding. Again, even the beginner—especially the beginner—should venture into Code view, get accustomed to the look and syntax of HTML code, and try some hand coding.

Making Forms Accessible

HTML 4.0 introduced some new elements and attributes that provide improved support for accessibility in forms, although they are not fully implemented by all browsers as of this writing. These include the <label> element and the accesskey and tabindex attributes. Dreamweaver MX makes it easy to include these accessibility attributes in forms (and in other page elements, as well) with its new Accessibility preferences.
