Working with Library Items

Library items can be a real time-saver; it is well worth your while to get to know them. Whereas templates are complete HTML pages, library items are chunks of code; although both enable you to update many pages instantly, library items are used in a very different way than templates.

What Is a Library Item?

A library item is a section of code that you plan to not only reuse, but also update. Users often confuse library items, assets, snippets, and server-side includes; Table 25.2 compares and contrasts them.
