Chapter 12. Designing Frame-Based Pages > Working with <noframes>

Working with <noframes>

If the user who accesses your frameset document is using an extremely outdated browser—a version of Netscape previous to Netscape 2.0, or a version of Internet Explorer previous to IE 3.0—he won’t be able to view your framed content. <noframes> also can be used to one’s advantage in search engine positioning, and this tactic is worth considering when a frame site needs to be positioned competitively.
