Dealing with Browsers

If you’re designing web pages, the browser is the center of your universe. What browsers are your visitors using? How do your pages display in the different browsers? How can you make sure your target audience is seeing your pages at their best, despite browser differences? Dreamweaver offers a variety of tools to deal with these fickle mistresses of cyberspace.

Setting Up the Browser Preview

Design view is for designing; it’s meant only as an approximate rendering of what your page will look like when it’s online. How do you tell how your page will look in a browser? You look at it in a browser! Unlike other web editors, such as FrontPage or GoLive, Dreamweaver has no internal previewing window. Instead, Dreamweaver has tools for quickly launching your computer’s browsers to do your previewing there.
