Defining Content and Functionality

The next step in the process is to define your site’s content and functionality. Provided that your site is fundamentally usable, it will be your site’s content and functionality that will determine how persuasive it is. You need to develop the right content to educate and inform your users and couple it with the right functionality that will help users make a decision.

A good way to get started in determining your site’s content and functionality is to use the browser-evaluator-transactor-customer framework you learned about in Chapters 2 through 5. By looking at your site and its goals from the perspective of these four user types, you can quickly come up with a list of content and functionality. Here’s a checklist of questions to ask yourself to define or evaluate your own site:
