Chapter 11. Developing a Database Admini... > Adding Search Capabilities to the Ad...

Adding Search Capabilities to the Administration Site

After a user has logged on to the administration site, she is obviously going to want to see the records stored in the database. Rather than just dumping every record onto a page, we can provide the user with a search form that allows her to specify which records she wishes to work with. The results page will then display the appropriate records and provide the user with links to edit or delete the record.

Creating a Product Search Page

For the most part, the search page in your administration site is similar to the search page you created in the main site. By combining a form with a variety of text fields and buttons, you can submit the data stored in a form to a results page where the appropriate records will be displayed.
