Nesting Frames

You can nest one frameset inside another frameset to have nested frames. Actually, that is what you just did! When you split the bottom frame into two frames, Dream weaver created a frameset defining the bottom two frames. The original frameset now consists of a frame on top of the nested frameset. You nest framesets by nesting one <frameset> tag within another, within a single frameset web page. If you'd like to see the code, select the frameset (by clicking the frame borders) and then look at the code in Code view. It should look something like this:

<frameset rows="96,157" cols="*">
    <frame src="banner.htm" id="banner" />
    <frameset rows="*" cols="206,437">
        <frame src="toc.htm" id="toc" />
        <frame src="main.htm" id="main" />
    </frameset>
</frameset>
