Q&A

Q1:When is it appropriate to use Check In/Check Out?
A1: There are two major uses for Check In/Check Out: for working in a small group and for working on a site from two computers. Check In/Check Out isn't designed for use by enterprise-type projects (those with many developers), but it is perfect for a small group of developers who are working on the same sites. I use it all the time when I work on a site with two computers (home and work computers, for instance). It helps me know whether I have uploaded my changes.
Q2:Do you use the Site Definition Wizard or the Advanced tab of the Side Definition dialog box to define websites in Dreamweaver?
A2: I usually define a site initially by using the wizard because it's fast, but then I often tweak the site definition by using the Advanced tab.
Q3:One of my co-workers left for a two-week vacation with a bunch of files checked out in his name. How can I work on these files while he is gone?
A3: When you attempt to check out the files, Dreamweaver warns you that someone else has them checked out. It then asks you to override your co-worker's checkout. If you click the Yes button, the files are checked out to you. Just hope that your co-worker hasn't made any changes to the files that he forgot to move onto the remote site.
