Exploring Code View

The Dreamweaver Document window enables you to view a web page in either Design view or Code view. You can see Design and Code views at the same time by selecting the Split View button in the Document toolbar (or choose View, Code and Design). When you do this, it's easy to pop back and forth between the views with just a click of a button. You'll probably do the majority of your web page development in Design view while occasionally looking at Code or Split view to tweak the code or troubleshoot a problem.

Did you Know?: Toggle the Panels Off

You can toggle all the panels on and off by pressing the F4 key (or Window, Hide Panels). Pressing F4 again toggles the panels back on (or Window, Show Panels). This is especially useful for Mac users whose floating panel version of Dream weaver might cause the panels to block the view of the web page design or code.
