Adding an Image to a Page

Images are separate files that appear within a web page. Because Dreamweaver is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) program, it enables you to see web page images right in the Dreamweaver Document window. Images are not actually part of the HTML; they remain separate files that the browser inserts when you view the web page.

Open the one of the pages based on a Dreamweaver page design you created in Hour 3, “Getting Started: Adding Text, Lists, and Previewing in the Browser,” or create a new page using the page design titled Image: Picture and Description Vertical (File, New, Page Designs). Delete the placeholder image (the gray box in the middle of the page). To insert an image into the web page, follow these steps:
