Nesting a Table Within a Table

Placing a table within a table cell creates a nested table. The dimensions of the table cell limit the nested table's width and height. To nest a table, place the insertion point inside a table cell and insert a new table (Insert, Table).

You can also draw a table when in Layout mode using the Layout table object in the Layout category of the Insert bar. Drawing a layout table by using this tool enables you to draw a table over any area in the page that doesn't already have an existing cell, as shown in Figure 13.14.
