Using Layout Mode

Traditionally, designing tables for page layout has been a complicated task. Making changes or creating the perfect number of cells has required web developers to merge and split cells (you'll learn more about these terms later in the hour) in various rows and columns to get pages to look the way they wanted. Dreamweaver includes Layout mode, which enables you to easily draw, move, and edit table cells.

To turn on Layout mode, select the Layout Mode button on the Layout tab of the Insert bar or select View, Table Mode, Layout Mode. You might see a Getting Started in Layout Mode dialog box giving you an introduction to Layout mode; read the information in this dialog box.
