Imagemaps

The one section I did not include in the preceding list is the map area. The map area is used to create imagemaps. Imagemaps are pretty straightforward; you can activate different regions of a single bitmap graphic to link to different pages and sites. To do so, choose the Map tool of choice and draw a shape, also known as a hot spot, over a particular region of the image. You can access the Map drawing tools from the Properties Inspector when the image is selected, or from the Common section of the Insert panel under the Images drop-down menu. After you've drawn a shape, you can type a link into the link text field of the Properties Inspector, as shown in Figure 4.39.
