Why We Need SQL

For the past few days, you've been using Dreamweaver MX's simple queries and server behaviors to write Web pages that have dynamic functionality. Unfortunately, there is a limit to the amount of flexibility you can achieve with the built-in behaviors. For example, if you allow users to input a first and last name on a form, and then want to search the database for those names, you won't be able to do it with a simple Dreamweaver MX query.

Simple recordsets, such as the one shown in Figure 12.1, only allow you to select data based on a single parameter passed to the behavior. If you want to use multiple pieces of information in a simple query, you're out of luck.
