Using Timelines

If you've used Flash or a QuickTime editor, you've seen a timeline editor. Timelines are used to coordinate actions to a specific time, rather than a user action on a Web page. With Dreamweaver MX you can create timelines that execute when the page is loaded, or when a particular behavior is triggered. How you use timelines is up to you. The only warning I have is that they can be a bit overwhelming if used everywhere on your page. We'll take a look at a simple way to animate the logo of a Web page upon its initial loading.

The Timelines Panel

The Timelines panel is most often (and effectively) used to animate layers. You can also use it to animate images, but you won't have the same level of control that you have with a layer. I suggest that you use layers for animations and insert graphics into those layers.
