Week: 3 At a Glance > Introduction to the Dreamweaver MX Languages

Appendix A. Introduction to the Dreamweaver MX Languages

In the main text of this book, we looked at how to use the Dreamweaver MX tools without needing a degree in Computer Science. Unfortunately, there are occasions when you'll need to understand the code that has been added to a page. In this appendix, we'll take a look at the actual structure of the most popular Dreamweaver MX languages and how they operate. This is not meant to be a complete programming reference by any stretch of the imagination. Instead, it will hopefully give you enough information so that you can find your way around the auto-generated server behaviors and modify them to do your bidding.

You can consider this appendix a basic reference to some of the code you'll see generated by Dreamweaver MX. If you're a non-programmer, you might want to look into a full programming manual, many of which are listed at the end of this guide. Most readers with a general understanding of programming languages will be able to use the following information to help them better understand the structure of the Dreamweaver MX languages.
