Input and Output, a Messaging System Overview

Assuming the site www.cutelittledogs.com becomes wildly popular, it might be nice to add the capability for readers to communicate with one another, trade stories about their pets, and the like. One of the most common Web applications that exists is the messaging board, a forum for users to exchange messages. A few years ago, as a student, I sold a message board program (written in C) for more than $1,000. Fortunately for anyone needing such a system now, it can be built in Dreamweaver MX in an hour or two.

Today's lesson will pull together many of the standard Dreamweaver MX behaviors that we've seen throughout the book. The result will be a messaging application that offers many of the features of commercial packages, but you'll be able to build it yourself.
