Creating the Update Profile Page (profile.asp)

The Update Profile page, profile.asp, is the most difficult page you will create today—not because it is hard to write or uses any complex behaviors, but because the coding is monotonous. This page allows the users to update any information in their profiles—password, e-mail address, and the default responses to the four questions. Create and save profile.asp within your Day 19 site now.

Start by setting up a form named frmUpdate with the four questions defined earlier and four corresponding pop-up menus (List/Menu objects in the Insert panel's form category) named q1Response through q4Response —include fields named email and password for updating the e-mail address and password. Finally add a submit button that will save the user's changes to his profile when he's happy with the selections. The page layout can be seen in Figure 19.9.
