A Product Catalog

Before starting programming today's lesson, you'll need to set up a working catalog database. This isn't necessarily as easy as it seems. What functionality do you want to include in your catalog? What tables are necessary, and how do you implement them? These are the sorts of questions that are going to be asked (and hopefully answered) at the start of every day for the rest of the book. For the past few days you've been building small components using the different available server behaviors. Today you'll build a rather large project using several different behaviors and multiple database tables. This will give you a feel for how Dreamweaver MX can be used to create real-world systems and prepare you for the full projects you'll be building over the next few days. To keep things tied into the general theme used throughout the book, this will be a catalog of pet toys, just in case www.cutelittledogs.com wants to become the next big online pet store.

Note

Although this day shares some common ground with previous days, don't skip this or future lessons without looking through them first. There are plenty of new concepts introduced to keep you occupied.
