Finding Code with the Element Finder

If you have ever experienced how literal the find-and-change utilities can be in most applications, you will certainly appreciate the intelligence of the Element Finder in GoLive. The Element Finder is used to locate specific HTML elements in the source code and make indicated changes to them.

Available through Edit, Find in the menu, the Element Finder understands HTML structure and will look for acceptable variations in HTML elements. For instance, if you want to find every page that has bgcolor attribute="yellow", a standard search engine would ignore instances such as bgcolor=yellow, where quotation marks are not used. But the Element Finder understands that in the HTML structure it is acceptable to have some attributes with quotation marks and others without, and finds variations of your code throughout the specified pages.
