Hour 13. Using JavaScript Actions > Using Objects from the Smart Section

Using Objects from the Smart Section

In this hour, you'll learn how to use three of the objects in the Smart section of the Objects palette. The three objects you will work with are the Modified Date, the Image Rollover, and the URL pop-up. Later in the hour, you set up two Actions: the Open Window Action and the Set Image URL Action, which creates a remote rollover.

Setting Up and Using the Modified Date Object

The Modified Date object is simply a way for you to tell your viewers the last date that the page they are visiting was changed. This is the easiest object to set up in the entire GoLive arsenal. To use this object, drag it from the Smart section of the Objects palette onto your page. The icon for the Modified Date object has a number 5 on it, and resembles a tiny calendar (see Figure 13.1). It can be placed directly on the page, inside a table cell, or inside a text box on a layout grid.
