Creating and Applying Stationeries as Template Files

Pages that are to be used as a foundation for future pages are referred to as Stationery files. Multiple files can be saved as stationeries. In this section, we create a file, save it as a stationery page, and use it to create new pages.

To Do: Create the Stationery File

1.
Have a site open. If you do not have a practice site, create a new blank site from the File menu, or refer to http://www.golivein24.com/.

2.
Select New from the File menu to create a new blank page.

3.
Create a one-row, three-column table by dragging out the Table object from the Basic button of the Objects palette. Enter the following data into the cells: Sales; Service; Locations.

4.
Choose File, Save from the menu. As shown in Figure 10.4, choose Stationery from the pop-up menu to save the file in the appropriate folder. You can name this file basic.html.

Figure 10.4. When working in GoLive, additional save options are available.

5.
Leave this site open for the next exercise.
