Hour 22. Cleaning Up Your Web Site > Finding Errors and Link Warnings

Finding Errors and Link Warnings

It's hard to fix something if you don't know what's broken, right? Well, GoLive's Site window helps you figure out if you have any errors in your site and what pages they are located in. The first place to look for errors is in the Errors tab of the Site window. To open the Errors tab, use the Site, View, Errors menu command. Errors such as broken links, orphaned files, and incorrectly named files will appear in the Errors tab. Then look in the Status column of the Files tab of the Site window. If you have an error in a page, you'll see a green bug icon in the Status column instead of a check mark, as shown in Figure 22.1. If you have a folder that contains a page with a bug, GoLive will show the green bug and triangle icons next to the folder.

Figure 22.1. GoLive puts a green bug icon in the Status column next to any pages or folders with problems.
