Q&A

Q1:Is there any way I can use templates without having locked and editable regions?
A1: Yes. You can create a template with everything laid out perfectly, apply it to a Web page, and then detach it. That way you have a standard beginning point but have the freedom to do what you want with the page.
Q2:Why can't I change the background or link colors in a page created with a template?
A2: When you apply a template to a Web page, the <body> tag is locked. The background and link colors are attributes of the <body> tag and will need to be defined in the original template, either in the <body> tag or as styles.

Alternatively, you can make individual attributes of the <body> tag editable by selecting the <body> tag in the tag selector and applying the Make Attribute Editable command from the Templates submenu of the Modify menu. You can select attributes that can later be changed in an instance of the template. You change the attribute in the template instance by selecting the Template Properties command under the Modify menu.
