Acknowledgments

There were so many wonderful people who helped us make this book great that we could probably spend three pages just listing all the names.

Foremost, there are the people from Sams Publishing:

Shelley Johnston Markanday, who helped in the beginning with coordinating everything, and Jennifer Kost, who took over after Shelley had gone on maternity leave (Congratulations, Shelley!).

Pat Kinyon, who worked on making this book something that doesn't read like it was written by a dyslexic (you should really appreciate her efforts).

Carol Bowers, who took over for the author review phase and coordinated everything with the technical editors and the copy editors.

Scott Meyers, who found Chapter 4 so fascinating that we didn't get it back for months, and who left a few comments throughout the book for us.

Now that we've got past the Sams people, we'd like to thank technical editors Chris Withers, Tino Wildenhain, and Tom Deprez for their hard work on their respective chapters and for proofreading all the code.

We would also like to thank the people from Zope Corporation, formerly known as Digital Creations, especially Tres Seaver for the CMF and for explaining it to us, and John Platten for his review.

Speaking of reviews: After we put Chapter 5, “The Content Management Framework (CMF),” online, we got a lot of responses. Some people sent information about typos that we overlooked and some even sent suggestions on how we could improve the chapter. Unfortunately we weren't able to implement as many of those suggestions that we would have liked. But nevertheless we thank everyone who took the time to read through the chapter and e-mail us, especially Tom Deprez, Norman Khine, Dave Lehman, Greg McCall, and Jean-Louis Berliet.

Of course, we also thank beehive GmbH and our colleagues there who provided us with background and technical information for some of the chapters.

There might be more we could list here, for example, the authors of all the products used in this book without whom this book wouldn't be half as good, and family and friends who kept us sane during our hard work. To all of them, a big thank you for your help and support.
