Creating and Acquiring Image Files

Where can you get images? You can create (or acquire) them in the following ways; the important issue is not where they come from, but rather their file type, size, and other factors:

Paint/Draw— You can use a paint or draw program to create your inline graphics. Ideally, the program should be able to save your picture as a GIF (or, optionally, JPEG) graphic. If not, you can convert

Convert— If you want to use existing graphics in your page that are not in GIF or JPEG format, you can convert them to GIF or JPEG by using a paint program or conversion utility or a conversion utility built into your Web authoring program. (Composer, however, does not convert images from other formats to GIF or JPEG.)
