About Inline Images

Inline images automatically appear within the layout of the page when a graphical browser accesses the page.

Computer image files come in many types. Common types include .pcx and .bmp files, which are used most often in Windows, and TIFF (.tif) files, which are often used on Macintoshes and in desktop publishing. However, the most common type of image file used for inline images is GIF (pronounced “jif” and using the file extension .gif). The next most popular type is JPEG (with a .jpg file extension in most systems).
