Q&A

Q1: Which is better, a master style sheet, or style sheets contained in each document?
A1: It depends on your needs. A master style sheet is useful for an entire site, but, if your pages have different looks, you might find yourself constantly adding new variations to the master styles just to accommodate the variation. If this is the case, stick to styles defined inside the documents that vary from the norm.
Q2:Can I use the special styles, such as filters, even though they aren't supported in Netscape?
A2: Yes, but I don't recommend it. The Web was designed to be an open environment. Creating pages that target a particular browser on a particular platform is very short sighted.
Q3:What are the best candidates for library items?
A3: Navigation bars, obviously, but also some of the smaller elements on the site might be subject to change such as mailto: links, lists of outside links, and seasonal graphics. If it changes and you don't want to dig for it, build it into a library.
Q4:Are Templates secure?
A4: Absolutely not. You can't distribute a template based Web site and completely protect the files from being changed. You should train your team members on how to use UltraDev effectively without going beyond the bounds that the software enforces.
