Creating the Quiz Form

The quiz form is the hardest portion of the program to implement, and is obviously the most important. Before getting started, let's take a few minutes to figure out exactly what we need to do and how we're going to do it. This page is actually very similar to some of the pages you've created before. So, what exactly does the quiz.asp portion of the site need to do? It must perform the following:

  • Maintain the user login information—We've tested to see if a user should be able to access a Web site, but we need to do this throughout the entire site. This will be the last feature we add to the page—but one of the most important. If the user is able to access the page without a login and password, he can preview the questions and cheat.

  • Ask questions—Obviously. The purpose of the site is to create an online quiz, but there are a few things that make this slightly confusing. For example, there are an arbitrary number of responses to a question—all these need to be displayed. Additionally, the responses need to be stored.

  • End the quiz—Because we aren't just browsing back and forth between records, what happens when the user reaches the last question? The system must be able to tell when the quiz is done and react appropriately.
