Summary

Today's lesson covered one of the most important functions that exist on Web sites—login screens. By combining the use of hidden regions (Show Region behaviors that aren't being shown) and standard queries, you can develop a login engine for your Web sites. The Show Region behavior can be used to hide information as well as to show information based on the results of a recordset query.

After the user has successfully logged in, how does the system maintain the user's information? It's not as easy as it might seem! In order for the system to remember who has logged in, it needs to pass information from page to page and look up the needed user information from the database as it goes. The Related Page server behavior can be used to transfer existing parameters from page to page.
