A Product Catalog

Before you can start programming today's lesson, you'll need to set up a working catalog database. This isn't necessarily as easy as it seems. What functionality do you want to include in your catalog? What tables are necessary, and how do you implement them? These are the sorts of questions that are going to be asked (and hopefully answered) at the start of every day for the rest of the book. In fact, we'll revisit this very project next week when we expand the catalog system into a program that can handle a shopping cart that works alongside an expanded product catalog.

Note

Although this day shares some common ground with previous days and with the e-commerce lesson in the final week, don't skip this or future lessons without looking through them first. There are plenty of new concepts introduced to keep you occupied.
