Hour 24. Customize Dreamweaver

The Dreamweaver API (Application Programming Interface) provides developers with the ability to extend Dreamweaver's capabilities. A thorough understanding of HTML and JavaScript are required to develop custom behavior actions, floating palettes, data translators, and other extensions. However, Dreamweaver also enables all developers to create custom objects, customize the object palette, and create new commands.

There are developers skilled in JavaScript who create Dreamweaver behaviors, objects, commands, and floating palettes that you can download for free from the Web. See Appendix B for the URLs to some of these sites. When Dreamweaver doesn't seem to have a behavior, object, or command for what you are trying to accomplish in your Web page, search these Web sites and you might find just what you need.
