Explore Layer Tags

Set the default tag for layers in the layer preferences. However, you can change the tag in the Property inspector by selecting another tag from the Tag pop-up menu, as shown in Figure 9.17. Different tags allow different functionality in different browsers. The <div> tag is the most common tag to use in cross-browser development. <span> and <div> tags create what are called Cascading Style Sheet, or CSS, layers. These tags implement the W3C standards for layers.
