Creating Sites for Different Browsers

When you are creating Web sites you should always keep in mind that your users may access your Web site with different browsers. You need to balance the need to present the information in your Web page in a dynamic and interesting way with the potential lack of capabilities that the user's browser may be limited by. Most of your viewers will be using Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator even though there are dozens of different Web browsers.

There are a number of different versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. If your site is available to the general public, it is likely that someone will eventually visit your site with a text-only browser or a very old version of a browser. If you build your site only toward these users you will not be able to take advantage of Dreamweaver's Dynamic HTML capabilities for layers, timelines, and behaviors.
