Add a Separator to a Page

A graphical item that has been around since the Web stone age (a few years ago) is the horizontal rule. That little divider line is still pretty useful. Note that you can't place anything else on the same line with a horizontal rule.

Add a horizontal rule to your Web page by selecting the HR object from the Object palette. Of course, if you're a menu kind of person, you can find the Horizontal Rule command under the Insert menu. In Figure 2.9, the Property inspector presents the properties of a horizontal rule. You can give the rule a name and you can set width and height values in either pixels or percent of the screen. You can set the alignment and turn shading on and off.
