Part V: Collecting User Data with Forms > Create a Form and Use It to Collect D...

Hour 15. Create a Form and Use It to Collect Data

In this hour you will create a form to collect user input. Dreamweaver gives you easy access to a number of different form elements to collect the input. You add a collection of text boxes, radio buttons, check boxes, lists, drop-down menus, and buttons to capture user choices. You can also include hidden fields in the form to send data that you want included with the user's data (we'll cover this in Hour 16, "Send and React to Form Data".)

All of the objects used to collect user input need to be contained in a form object. The form object has a name and an action associated with it. The action of the form defines what will be done with the form data. We'll explore methods of dealing with form data in Hour 16. A form requires a script or application, stored either on the client computer or a server, to process the data.
