TIP 83: Keeping Selections in Different Editors

The different editing environments in GoLive add up to a really potent combination, and we expect you'll want to use different modes for different tasks. Fortunately, the different editors work together smoothly as you switch from one to the other. For example, if you select an object such as an image, table, or text in the Layout Editor and switch to the Source Code Editor, the code for that object is still selected and cued up (Figure 83).

Figure 83. Selection Cueing works between the Layout, Source Code, and Outline Editors.

Now if you switch modes one more time to the Outline Editor, the same object is still selected and cued up in the Outline Editor. And now if you select a specific attribute in the Outline Editor and switch back to the Source Code Editor, just the code for that attribute will be selected. The integration of all the different Editors (Layout, Frame, Source, and Outline) is just amazing.

Selecting Cueing makes it easy to switch between the different editing modes for a quick edit, because you don't have to find your place in the page over and over again. It's also a great way to learn more about HTML, because you can immediately see the source that corresponds to your selection in a different editing mode.
