Lesson 9. Using Actions and JavaScript > Resizing a browser window automaticall...

Resizing a browser window automatically

Now you'll insert a head action that automatically resizes the browser window to fit the design of your Web page, so that viewers see the page exactly as you intended.

1.
From the Smart set () of the Objects palette, drag the Head Action icon to the head section of the document window.

2.
In the Rollover & Actions palette, leave the Events section set to OnLoad because you want this action to run when the page is loading.

3.
From the Action pop-up menu, choose Others > Resize Window.

4.
Set both the Width and Height resize value to 550. This ensures that the browser window will be 550 pixels tall and wide—just big enough to display the More Info copy.

5.
Choose File > Save.

6.
Click the Preview in browser button on the Document Toolbar to view the file in the Web browser that you specified in the GoLive Preferences dialog box. Notice how the resize window head action that you just created works.

Note

The Resize Window action is not always reliable in Netscape browsers.

7.
Close your browser.
