Chapter 6. Working with Links > Linking to Draft Pages

Linking to Draft Pages

Contribute makes links to pages that are in the editing process differently from the way it makes links to pages that have already been created and published. If you think about it for a moment, this makes perfect sense; you can’t use Contribute’s built-in browser to browse to and edit pages that Contribute hasn’t yet published, because they don’t have a Web address to browse to yet. So Contribute gives you a way to link to the pages it knows about, even though they’ve yet to officially appear on your site. Of course, you can also use Contribute to make links to pages that are already live on your site; see “Linking to Web Addresses,” later in this chapter.

In terms of linking, Contribute treats a new page that is not yet saved or published the same as if it were a draft page.
