Browsing Sites

Contribute has a built-in Web browser (Figure 3.1). On Windows, it’s an embedded version of the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web browser. The Mac OS X version uses an integrated version of the Safari browser. You use this built-in browser to navigate to pages you want to edit. You can also use it just as you would most Web browsers, to view HTML pages on the Web or on your local network. The familiar Address bar is there to enter Web addresses, as are the Back and Forward buttons. You navigate to new pages by clicking links, just as in any browser. When your pointer hovers over a link, the link’s destination address appears in the browser’s status bar at the bottom of the browser window.

Figure 3.1. Contribute’s built-in browser allows you to navigate to pages you can then edit.
