Finishing the Recipes Page

You were exposed to line breaks earlier in this lesson when you formatted Jade Valley's contact information in the table cell on about.html. In HTML, line breaks are created with the <br /> tag. People often confuse line breaks with paragraphs (<p>), but the two are quite distinct.

When you use a <p> tag, the browser adds a blank line before and after the text in the paragraph. A <br /> tag tells the browser to go to the next available line, usually right below the proceeding line. The line break creates no extra white space. For most body text, you should use paragraphs, but occasionally you will want to format several lines of text with line breaks, rather than full-fledged paragraphs.
