Remote Sites: Getting and Putting Files

Now you're ready to download stuff from and upload stuff to your local and remote sites. If the files you download are in a directory on the remote site that doesn't yet exist on the local site, the directory will be created on the local site, and vice versa.

To download files from a remote site

1.
On the Files panel, select the remote file(s) or folder(s) you want to download (Figure 17.18).

2.
Click the Get button . The Dependent Files dialog box will appear (Figure 17.19). This will include any other files needed to display the pages that you're downloading. Click Yes or No (see the About Dependent Files sidebar for more information).

3.
Dreamweaver will display a dialog box displaying the status of your file transfer (Figure 17.20).

Your files, after they are downloaded, will appear in your local site in the parallel folders to the ones on the remote site (Figure 17.21).
