Site Map Icons and Tips

In Site Map view, various icons are used to represent different types of pages or links. These icons are described in Table 17.1. Lower levels of the site use smaller versions of the same icons.

Table 17.1. Site Map Icons
ICONWHAT IT MEANS
A page icon. Can be a Web page, text file, XML, JS, etc.
Green checkmarks indicate files you have checked out.
Files someone else has checked out are not indicated in Site Map view in Dreamweaver MX 2004.
Padlocks indicate locked or read-only files.
The broken icon indicates a broken link—that is, a link to a local file that there is no copy of on the local site.
An external Web URL icon.
A mailto link icon.
An image icon.
A Flash text or movie file.
An icon for an unknown (non-Dreamweaver) file type or a file with no extension.
