Layers and Styles

You can apply all the versatile style sheet attributes I discussed in Chapter 11 to layers. When you create a layer in Dreamweaver, the style attributes that guide the layer's behavior generally appear as the ID attribute directly within the <div> tag.

Styles for layers

You can redefine the <div> or <span> tag so that it attains new properties that will be applied to every layer you create (Figure 14.54). For instance, you could redefine the <div> tag so that it always has a solid, 1-pixel border.
