Creating and Saving CSS Text Formatting

In Dreamweaver, when CSS styles are activated in your Preferences, you use the Property Inspector to add formatting such as a typeface or point size to your text, and that tool automagically saves your settings as a CSS style. This style is saved in your page so you can reuse it on other text selections. This process has four steps, as detailed in the following abbreviated list.

To create and save and reuse a style

1.
Select some text (Figure 8.20).

Apply text formatting to your selection. The Property inspector will name your settings as a style (Figure 8.21).

3.
Rename the style. It will save you time and heartache (Figure 8.22).

Reapply the style to other text (Figure 8.23).
