Chapter 5. Playing & Refining Movies > Using Scene Transitions

Using Scene Transitions

Director offers more than 50 different transitions—such as dissolves, wipes, and motion effects—that you can use to move smoothly from one frame to the next. Use them whenever you have an abrupt change in subject matter that might otherwise create a jarring effect for the viewer.

Attempting to describe all the transition styles individually would require more space than is available here. The best way to find out what each transition looks like is to try them out. Experiment with a number of different transition types before selecting one for your scene change.
