Setting Editable Regions

For the parts of your page design that you want to be modifiable on every document that is based on your design, use an editable region.

To create a new editable region:

1.
Click to place the insertion point where you want the new editable region to appear.

From the menu bar, select Insert > Template Objects > Editable Region.

or

On the Templates tab of the Insert toolbar, click on the Editable Region button .

Either way, the New Editable Region dialog box will appear (Figure 14.8).

3.
Type a name for the editable region in the text box, using only alphanumeric characters—nothing funny and no brackets.

4.
Click on OK to close the New Editable Region dialog box and return to the Document window. The name of the editable region will appear highlighted in the Document window (Figure 14.9) in a little box with the name of the editable region on top. You can edit this text, if you like.
