About .DWT Files and Template Syntax

Dreamweaver template documents use the .DWT extension and are listed in the New Document dialog box (Figure 14.1) and the Templates folder in your local site (Figure 14.2). When you design a template page, you designate regions of that page as editable. The rest is locked in the Document window, so that when pages are created based on that template, only marked editable regions can be changed.
