Importing Slices from Fireworks to Use As a Toolbar

Macromedia has worked hard to integrate Fireworks, its Web-oriented image editing program, with Dreamweaver. One example of this is the ability to create a complex image in Fireworks, complete with rollovers, and export it, with code, to Dreamweaver. You can export slices of a single image as separate images that will then display in Dreamweaver aligned as they were in the original image.

One handy use for this is to create a navigation bar, or navbar, in Fireworks, and then import it into Dreamweaver. A navbar is a series of buttons that indicate where you are on the site and what other pages you can go to. We’ll show you how to create a simple navbar in Fireworks, and how to use Dreamweaver to place it on your page.
