Chapter 2. Setting Up Dreamweaver MX > Adding a Database Connection

Adding a Database Connection

To access data from a database in Dreamweaver, you’ll also need to set up a connection that tells Dreamweaver where the database is and how to access it.

If your database is Microsoft Access, SQL Server, or another database running on a Windows-based server, you’ll need to set up a System DSN (Data Source Name) first. If your database is MySQL or another database running on an OS X, Linux, or Unix server, you do not need to set up a DSN. You can proceed directly to To add a database connection.
